God speaks to us from outside the world, from inside the world, and from inside us!

“This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.. (1 John 5:6-9)”

Reality is whatever is true. Whatever isn’t true isn’t real. Tooth fairies are not true and therefore not real. Buddhism says, ‘all is an illusion’. Buddhists would say that this doesn’t mean nothing is real, it means that we can’t know reality and what we perceive as reality is really only projections of the mind. The Truth is simpler.

The world (and you) are really real. That’s because reality doesn’t depend on your mind. Reality existed before your mind did. All reality – what is really real, what is really there – flows out of three sources: God the Father speaking from above our world, the Word of God speaking within our world, and the God the Spirit speaking within us.

God spoke the world into existence. God said, and it was so. Existence flows out of God’s word. Right now, wherever you are, you are standing on the outcome of God’s word. If it is true, if it is real, whatever ‘it’ is, it has God’s word as its ultimate cause. How can we know this for sure – just because God says so? Yes and not only.

Over time, at the right time, the Word of God through whom He created the world, entered into the world. The Word of God became a man. Jesus Christ was a living, talking man. We have Jesus’ words today and so God speaks from inside the world, not just from outside the world. In fact, Jesus word’s have started a brand new world just like His words created this world.

The Third source of what is True and real is God the Spirit speaking from within us. The Buddhists are right to say that reality is a perception, but they are wrong to think it is subjectively true only. A human being can know Absolute Truth by listening to God’s written word about His Son as taught to us by the Holy Spirit.

Being made in God’s image, our minds are created to think in words too. This is why we can speak about reality and we can tell the Truth. Truth is meaningless to animals which is why our Labradoodle will chase a laser light and be terrified of black plastic bags. When human beings are still growing and afraid of the monster under the bed, we help them to grow up and show them their perception of reality is not real.

For a human being to fully grow up and reach our full potential, we need to understand that all reality is shaped by God’s word. The Father speaks from heaven, the Son speaks from written words and the Spirit speaks from within. But there is only One God and only One Truth. All Three speak One Truth.
